We have compiled a list of budget-friendly Labor Day Weekend travel destinations for those of you who are planning to enjoy the end of summer to its fullest. Enjoy!
Affordable Labor Day Weekend Travel Destinations
1. Daytona Beach, Florida
Daytona is one of the most family-friendly beaches in Florida. Contrary to the spring break crews, the end-of-summer visitors are of the kids and pet dog variety. Free concerts, recreational sporting events, fireworks at night and plenty of beach days will make the weekend fly by a little too fast.
2. San Clemente, CA
San Clemente is one of the few towns in the LA / San Diego region that still holds a genuine small-beach-town feel. Take your significant other for a romantic stay at the Casablanca Inn and beautiful strolls along the beach, or hunker down with the family after a long day at one of San Diego’s theme parks. There are plenty of small restaurants, boutiques and scenic views, perfect for a quiet, relaxing weekend away from home.
3. Washington D.C.
Ignore the humidity for just a second and hear us out: Washington D.C. is pretty great around Labor Day Weekend. Check out the annual National Symphony Orchestra as they perform their annual free concert at the U.S. Capitol the Sunday of Labor Day Weekend, take a kayak down the Potomac and spend some time traipsing the many historical monuments throughout the city. D.C. offers the perfect blend of history, city and nature in one.
4. Palm Springs, CA
There are few places that scream “weekend hideout” like Palm Springs. Located just a few hours away from busy Los Angeles, Palm Springs is ideal for those who are looking for sun rays, poolside views and very little noise. There are plenty of vacation houses to rent at affordable prices for families or groups of friends looking for a relaxing weekend of BBQs, tanning, and perhaps dinner at a nice restaurant or two. Hot? Yes. Relaxing? Even more so!
5. Las Vegas, NV
If family-friendly activities are a little too relaxing for you, there’s always Vegas! Dance until the sun goes down (or rises) with some of the top DJs in the world as they spin for day and night clubs. Check out a Cirque show, or one of the many celebrity performances (lookin’ at you, Celine) that return for the fall season that weekend. Relax by the pool, enable your inner shopaholic at Caesars, or disappear for awhile in a swank suite on The Strip. The best part about Vegas is that it can be as simple or extravagant as you would like it to be.
