Whether we like it or not, holiday travel is going to be a reality for many of us over the next two months. Crowded terminals, delayed flights and extra costs are inevitable at this time of year, but that doesn’t mean you have to live out a travel nightmare. Try out these travel hacks this year!

Holiday Travel Tips

  1. Simplify to stay organized. We cannot stress this enough. Whether you have a family of ten or you’re traveling solo, simplify your journey as much as possible. This means looking up packing hacks to reduce the number of bags you have to check-in, purchasing a trusty carry-on that will store your passport, airline tickets, laptop, chargers, snacks and other items effectively, and eliminating anything you absolutely don’t need.
  2. Buy at the right time. Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Years travels can be pricey. Luckily, there are plenty of ways to reduce costs, like using the right travel apps and websites, buying for certain days of the week and exploring all your options before making your final decision.
  3. Ship gifts ahead of time. If you’re bringing presents as part of your holiday celebrations, ship them ahead of time rather than trying to pack them in your luggage. You can always wrap the gifts when you get there, and you don’t have to worry about extra bags, ruined products/toys and keeping track of yet more items on your flight.
  4. Create your personal space. We recommend doing this all year-round, but especially during the holidays. Even if you’re stuck in the middle seat, you can create a sense of privacy with the right items. Pack a hoodie and/or blanket in case it gets cold, earplugs and/or headphones to block out noise, a book to pass the time, and even a sleeping mask if you feel like taking a nap or need to get through a red-eye. It can make all the difference!
