One of the biggest NYC events in February is Valentine’s Day. Enjoy a decadent dinner, a glamours club experience or a night at the theater. Whatever you’re looking for on this special day of love our Cabeau insider has you covered.
Filthy Gorgeous Burlesque Valentine’s Day Spectacular
Highline Ballroom; Feb 14 at 7:30pm; $30, VIP $65
If you’d rather watch than participate, take someone special to this burlesque show and admire all the lovely ladies together. Miss Astrid plays host to a whole flock of foxy performers including Perle Noire, Poison Ivory and Lilin Lace at this Valentine’s Day show.
Dinner in the Dark
Camaje; Feb 14 at 5:30pm and 8:30pm; $95
No stuffy maître d’s or pristine white tablecloths here—this is fine dining like you’ve never experienced it before. Before you start the first course, you’ll don a blindfold and leave it on for the entirety of the luxe five-course meal. All of your other senses become heightened, leaving you with an entirely different appreciation for your meal. You might even be tempted to take the blindfold home.
Dita Von Teese
Gramercy Theater; Feb 14 at 7:30pm; tickets start at $135
Let the queen of burlesque seduce you with a performance from her old Hollywood–themed “Art of the Teese” tour. There will be plenty of glitz and glamour—almost every one of Von Teese’s outfits is crusted in Swarovski crystals—and she promises to debut never-before-seen acts along with a few old favorites, like her famous dance in an enormous martini glass.
Times Square New York
Watch couples showcase their love at Duffy Square on the great red steps with live surprise proposals, wedding ceremonies and vow renewals. And keep a lookout for the Heart of Hearts kaleidoscopic kissing booths!
Palace Theatre; Feb 2–May 28; $65–$199
Glenn Close returns to the role she last played on Broadway more than 20 years ago: the delusional, fading film star Norma Desmond. Andrew Lloyd Webber continues his renaissance on the Great White Way with this stripped-down but lushly orchestrated revival, staged by Lonny Price.
Jacques Torres Chocolate
Share a toasty mug filled to the brim wit hot chocolate with your significant other. With the best chocolate the city you’re bound to have nothing but a rich and special night.
You don’t have to plan an expensive winter getaway to find a snuggly hideout outside of the city. Instead, head to this Boerum Hill bar that looks like a cozy cabin in the woods. Inside the Smith Street watering hole, with its walls made of logs and tree trunk stoles, you can relax and unwind by cozying up to the fireplace with some s’mores and playing classic board games like Jenga and Connect 4 while sipping s’more martinis.
