  1. Nashville, TN

Between the rise in popularity of country music and the hit ABC TV series by the same name, Nashville is back in the spotlight. Now, everyone is talking about Music City – and it has become one of the best spring break spots in the country. With a booming music scene and an eye-popping selection of local bars and restaurants, Nashville is definitely one of the best spring break destinations this year.

The Grand Ole Opry is at the top of our list of Nashville must-sees, attracting visitors from around the world. If you don’t have time to take in one of the live shows, take a tour of the building and let your feet grace the same stage as the teenage Elvis Presley.

When you’re tired of the music scene, slow down a little and take in some history at the Belle Meade Plantation Mansion. Located just a few miles outside of the city, book a walking tour of the farm and even enjoy a complimentary glass of wine at the on-site winery. Our best spring break destinations this year have a common theme: locally-sourced products to taste and enjoy.

  1. Jackson, MS

Jackson is one of the most underrated and best spring break spots on our list, and there is no better time to visit Mississippi’s state capitol. Not only is it just far enough south to offer the warmer weather travellers seek, the city has a pleasant mix of old and new in the downtown core.

The best spring break destinations can offer modern luxury on a budget, and Jackson is no exception. Check into the Historic Fairview Inn for a true southern experience, complete with a spa and a farm-to-table restaurant. You can also easily venture nearby and visit the Mississippi State Capitol or the Governor’s Mansion for a taste of southern hospitality. If you want an even more breathtaking scene, stroll past the historic buildings at night on the way to sample some local craft brews.

For families, Jackson offers a wide variety of activities and museums. Visit the brand new Mississippi Civil Rights Museum that has just been unveiled. And if you love the outdoors, you aren’t far from LeFleur’s Bluff State Park. Pack one of Cabeau’s super lightweight travel backpacks and take a stroll amid the forest and swamps.

  1. Condado Beach, Puerto Rico

Puerto Rico has been hard-hit by natural disasters over the past year. Puerto Rico made headlines this year after devastating Hurricane Maria ravaged the shorelines and caused widespread damage. Prices are slightly lower than before as the island continues to recover from a tough hit to the economy, so consider spending your spring break participating in a bit of voluntourism.

The amazing Condado Beach in San Juan is open for business. You might observe quite a lot of rebuilding as you explore, but many of the luxury hotels in the area are priced lower than before the disaster, making Puerto Rico one of the best spring break destinations on our list. Puerto Rico has the added benefit of being less crowded than normal. You may never see it this empty, so take advantage of the more spacious beaches.

Enjoy kitesurfing, work on your tan and walk barefoot on the sand early in the morning as the sun rises. Despite 2017’s disaster, the Caribbean island of Puerto Rico remains among the best spring break destinations for travellers.

  1. Marco Island, FL

Marco Island, another one of our best spring break destinations in recovery-mode this year, is just far enough away from the mainland to give you the feeling of paradise. Days after the devastating impact of Hurricane Irma, it was clear that tourism would take a while to recover – so what better time to support this beautiful island landscape?

To reach Marco Island, fly into nearby Fort Myers and make your way over the bridge to one of our best spring break spots. Get closer to the ocean and sign up for the Cape Romano Shelling and Boat Tour. Observe the fragile mangrove ecosystem from a rented paddleboard and visit marine life near the shore. If you are craving adventures further afield, book a sailing tour on the Gulf of Mexico and take in the long sandy beach.  Swing by the deserted Keewaydin Island, located just off the coast of nearby Naples.

  1. Las Vegas, NV

There is something about Las Vegas that keeps us coming back for more. This isn’t the first time the vibrant city has made our list of best spring break destinations. If you are looking for a no-strings-attached bargain, hop on the next flight to Vegas and spend at least one day exploring the city’s casinos and nightlife – or perhaps two.

One of our favorite things to do is hop on the High Roller and take a 30 minute spin above the city. At 500-plus feet, this gigantic ferris wheel is sure to take you for a loop and prove that Vegas remains one of the best spring break spots. In the evening, explore the city’s growing craft brewery scene. This year’s best spring break destinations are full of great tastes and local expeditions. Sign up for the Las Vegas Brewery Tour and sample some of the local brews.

Finally, what happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas – but that doesn’t mean you can’t leave the city for a day. Grab your inflatable Cabeau Air Evolution® for a short bus ride and explore the Hoover Dam or Grand Canyon National Park.

  1. Nag’s Head, NC

Travellers looking for both solitude and quiet, look no further. Nag’s Head is our favorite Outer Banks town. Featuring the tallest natural sand dune system in the Eastern United States, we think Nag’s Head is one of our best spring break spots.

This small town is very family-friendly. You won’t drive far without finding a pirate-themed mini-golf course or colorful seafood restaurant. For something a little different, look into booking a sightseeing tour featuring some of the famous wild horses, or visit the nearby town of Kitty Hawk or Kill Devil Hills to take in some aviation history. If the invention of flight inspires you, don’t leave Nag’s Head without trying your hand at paragliding. You’ll get butterflies in your tummy as you take in the Outer Banks ocean views.

The best spring break destinations offer timeless photo ops. Celebrate the final day of your trip at Bodie Island Lighthouse. The surrounding landscape offers picturesque views for a family photo that will last forever.

  1. Chicago, IL

We just had to include a booming midwestern city on our list for our travellers who don’t see warm weather as a must-have. As an international hub, airline tickets to Chicago are usually priced right. We chose Chicago for its world-class restaurants and bars, its eye-popping architecture, tons of famous museums and parks, and its pristine beach along the shore of Lake Michigan (though a warning: Chicago temperatures in the spring may not be warm enough for swimsuits).

Spend a night at the Omni Chicago Hotel and experience flawless customer service and a cozy rooftop pool. Stop by Eataly and indulge in the most expensive glass of wine while you shop for genuine Italian goods. Take a leisurely stroll on Navy Pier or shop Magnificent Mile. And, we highly recommend getting tickets to Hamilton at the CIBC Theater – if you can get ‘em!

As you’re browsing for the best spring break destinations this year, keep our list handy as you watch flights for reduced prices. With so many choices right here in the United States, you won’t have to worry about renewing your passport just yet. No matter which destination you choose, make sure you stock up on Cabeau travel pillows and travel accessories to make your spring break as relaxing as possible.
